Jack proudly served his country in the US Army and graduated from Clarkson College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB for over 30 years. Jack was the Chief Avionics Engineer on several major weapon systems, to include fighters and the B1B Bomber. He was an avid water skier, skiing into his late 70's. Jack was a member of the Day-Oh Ski Club and the Dayton Liederkranz-Turner German Club for many years. He enjoyed spending time at Dale Hollow Lake with family and friends. Jack loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Jack is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Eric) Newhouse and Anita Mohr; a son, Frank (Katinka) Wallace; a daughter in law, Amanda Wallace; fourteen grandchildren, Erica, Katie (Derik), Molly (Cory), Michael, Adam (Mackenzie), Sara (Rob), Mark, Nichole (Trent), Danielle (Michael), Matthew (Allison), Matthew (Nicole), Kyle, Gabi, and Andreas; ten great grandchildren, Rijker, Reagan, Harper, Sydney, Eli, Piper, Taylor, Jack, Emerson and Lexi; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Emilie; his parents; a brother, Harry Wallace; a son, William "Bill" Wallace; and a son in law, Max Mohr.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Village at the Greene and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services at Medway Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 W Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459.
