Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John E. Ridenour, Jr.; grandson, John E. Ridenour, III.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claudette; children, Janet Weidner, Starletta Ridenour; Jeff (Yvonne) Ridenour; grandchildren, Angela (Joshua) Campbell, Craig Buccalo, Chelsey (Andrew) Swasey, Ashley (Sharif) DeLarge, Sidney Ridenour, David Veintimilla; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Corey, Marah, Jonathan, Abigail, Adeline, Craig, III, Will, Aliyah, Alannah, Reagan; several half siblings; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
John is a veteran of both the United States Navy (3 years) and the United States Army (23 years) and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed golfing, going out to eat and spending time with his family. John was a devoted husband who's love was unwavering. Caring for his wife of 56 years meant everything to him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors.
