Ernestine Teresa Maria Rice, age 91 of New Carlisle, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 with her husband, Raymond and family by her side. She was born July 30, 1927 in Pfarrkirchen, N.D.B. Germany to her late parents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Huber) Holzner.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond of New Carlisle; sister, Elsie (Franz) Pffereder of Pfarrkirchen N.D.B., Germany; other survivors include, Ben A. and Carol Rice of Huber Heights; Dewey and Ruth Ann McCarty of Catlettsburg, KY; Sharon Conley of Ashland, KY; Martie Mills of Ashland, KY; niece, Kelly and Rick Klepinger of Centerville, OH; nephew, Keith Rice of Hamilton, OH; numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ernestine worked as a warehouse foreman at Vanderberg AFB Exchange until her retirement.
Ernestine's wishes were to be cremated and returned back home to Germany where she will be buried at a later time and date.
A celebration of Ernestine’s life will be hosted at the home of Kelly and Rick Klepinger, 9710 Burnet Isle Drive, Centerville, OH 45458 beginning at 2:00 pm on August 25th, 2018. Please bring your remembrances and favorite stories. Food and beverages will be provided.
