1940 - 2018

Edith "Edie" Jenkins, 78, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on May 5, 2018. She was born on February 5, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ernest and Helen (Mauss) Mittenbuehler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jenkins. Edie is survived by her sister, Helen Staab and niece, "Rusty" (Susan) Staab; many furry friends, and several distant family members in Germany and Switzerland. Edie worked for many organizations throughout her life, including a law office, NCR, commercial real estate, and the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. Edie had a great love for art, as well as animals, having rescued many dogs and cats over the years. Edie was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ (downtown Dayton) where she sang in the choir and participated on the worship committee. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, June 15, 2018 at Newcomer (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with a service following at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery, Beavercreek. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
