Edward A. Vert, "Ed," age 65 of Huber Heights, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was born October 30, 1952 in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Charles and Thelma Vert.

Ed is survived by his siblings, Charles "Chuck" (Anna) Vert Jr. of Birch Run, MI, Susan (Harland "Buz") Nolff of Flint, MI, Thomas (Angela) Vert of Fairfield, OH; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force upon graduation from Mt. Morris High School in 1970. Hs Air Force duties allowed him to travel around the world, before serving in Vietnam. He came home honorably in 1974 having achieved the rank of Sargent. Ed made Huber Heights his home starting in 1985. He retired in 2014 after working 21 years with Kaffenbarger Truck Equipment, Inc.. He was also a member of VFW Huber Heights Post 3283.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 3 pm - 5 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A funeral service will begin at 5 pm, with military honors. Ed's remains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. An interment ceremony will be held in early May. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to VFW Post 3283 in Huber Heights, OH.
