She was born May 27, 1952 in Franklin, TN to the late Ridley Elrod and Mary Eleanor (Harris) Grimsley. Mel graduated from Fairmont High School and worked at Frigidaire/Westinghouse for many years, and also worked at Cardinal Health. She loved to read and loved her Ladies Group at Moraine City Baptist Church where she was a member for 9 years. Mel enjoyed traveling to visit her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ridley E. and Mary E. Grimsley. Mel is survived by her daughter, Amie (Daniel) Moore; son, James Kelly (Griselda) Priest; 7 grandchildren, Joel, Jordan (Rachael), Hadley (Chris), Connor, Adelyne, Michael, and David; 1 great-grandson, Killian Oliver; 5 nieces and nephews, Alex (Caroline), Melissa (Joey), Tammy (Matt), Tricia, and Amy(Jeff) ,and her dear friends, Dana Ross, Dale Priest, Bill Webb, Martha (Louie) McRedmond, Janet Wagner, Sue (Steve) Speck, Delores Harville, among many others.
Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 10:00am Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Moraine City Baptist Church 2748 Gladstone St. Moraine, Ohio 45439, where funeral service will follow at 10:00am with Pastor Daniel Moore officiating. Burial at Davids Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moraine City Baptist Church in Mel’s memory.
