Joslyn Patrice Taylor
1975 - 2017

Joslyn Patrice Taylor, age 42 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born August 7, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of James Smith and Mary Taylor.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Edward Smith.

Joslyn is survived by her mother, Mary Taylor; brothers, Jake Levett, Damon (Tameka) Taylor of Cleveland, OH, Antonio (Candice) Taylor of Dayton, OH; sisters, Isheraa Scott, Shundra Smith, Sandra Levett of Cleveland, OH, Monteen M. Taylor, Faith T. Moore of Dayton, OH; uncles, Michael E. Taylor, Sr.; Maurice (Sheila) Taylor of Cleveland, OH; aunt, Monteen (Robert) Taylor of Youngstown, OH; 3 nieces; 6 nephews; special friends, Danielle Macon, Carlynn and Leasha Watson, Pamela Battle; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Jos, as she was lovingly known to family and friends, began her education at William Patrick Day Developmental Center in Cleveland, OH. Then later went to Dunbar and Meadowdale High Schools, both located in Dayton, OH.

Jos was first baptized in 1994 at True Holy House of God, then again in 2010 at Zion Temple COGIC. Joslyn's love and faith in God was immeasurable. In church she would sing all the songs loud....and off key. To know Jos, was to love her. She faced many difficulties in life, being diagnosed with Cri du Chat Syndrome at the age of 1. We were told she would never walk, talk or hear. As you all know, God let his power fall and Jos was able to show all "HE HAD WON AGAIN." Over the years, Jos received many negative medical reports, but she knew God would fight her battles for her.

Jos would often be seen carrying her book bag with paper and markers in it, and at least one letter to her lifelong friend, Danielle. She also had a love for baby dolls, which she had a collection of. Only to be admired - never touched by others.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A memorial service will begin at 1:30 pm.
