Sherwood, Doris M., age 78, of Fairborn, born September 8, 1934 to Laura and Zack Rowland, in Tazewell, TN went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Sherwood of Beavercreek who passed in 1985, and by 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Doris worked for the Beavercreek Schools for 3 years , and with Dr. Brumfield for 12 years. She was also involved with the Beavercreek Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

Doris is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Keith Sherwood; 2 children, Greg and his family, and Laura and her family; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; 1 brother and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 am. Doris will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Hospice of Dayton in Doris’ name.
