Rosemary James Day was born on March 14, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Elmer C. and Bettye L. James. She entered into rest on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

Rosemary graduated from East High School in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1964. She attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio studying social work and education. Rosemary met Fred when they were both working at Dabney Cafeteria at Central State. Rosemary and Fred were married July 2, 1966 in Xenia, Ohio.

She was formerly employed at Central State and Greene Oaks Nursing Center in Xenia. She was a homemaker who loved flowers and cooking, especially her Chicken Pie and Broccoli Divan.

Serving in the Kingdom Hall in Xenia for over 40 years, Rosemary was a devoted and diligent Witness of Jehovah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bettye James; two sisters, Ruby Lee Mabry and Vera Lynn Foster, and one brother, Elmer C. James, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Frederick Day; one daughter, Amber (Bo) Nickles; two grandsons, Jamin and Liston Nickles; one granddaughter, Mikki Nickles, all of Xenia; two sisters, Cheryl James Cox of Boardman, Ohio and Marjorie James Revish of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one aunt, Joyce Paul of Youngstown; her best friends, Jennie Flaugher and Cynthia Dargin, and many other close friends and relatives. She also leaves her dear adopted mother, Norma Ward.

Funeral services were held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek.
