Roosevelt Mukes, Sr. "Pops", age 70 of Huber Heights, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016. He was born August 31, 1945 in Gary, Indiana the son of the late Jesse Mukes and Ivory Jimerson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Mukes.

Roosevelt is survived by his wife, Diane Mukes; son, Roosevelt (Camille) Mukes Jr.; grandson, R.J. Mukes, III; step-mother, Gladys Mukes; brother, Jesse Mukes; five sisters: Olivia Mukes, Missouri (John) Jackson, Dr. Ruthie Jimerson, Barbara Mukes and Glenda Gilmore; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Roosevelt was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a very active supporter of the Wayne High School Football Program. Although Pops only had one son, he was a great mentor and father figure to many.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Dayton National Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
