She is survived by daughters: Kathleen (Elter) Hanrahan, Susan (Elter) Rodebush and her husband: Robert Rodebush; sons: Thomas Elter and his wife: Prangthip (Thasanoh), Michael Elter and his wife: Kristin; three grandchildren: Ryan Rodebush and his wife: Heather, Samuel Elter and Brandon Elter. She is further survived by her favorite brother Wilbur (Bud) Frantz, and sisters Mary Ellen Ditzel and her husband: William, and Jeanette Steece and her husband: Mark; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Margaret and Charles Nickel; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Elizabeth started her career as office manager for a large local builder, Swango Homes, then devoted herself to raising her family. She later returned to college to strengthen her accounting skills. A very proud moment for her family was seeing Elizabeth receive her Associate of Science Degree in Accounting from Sinclair Community College in 1983. She went on to an accounting career at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and retired in 1998.
Elizabeth’s greatest joy was having her family gathered around, and she loved traveling with her husband in retirement, including several cross-country trips and a memorable trip to Hawaii for their 50th anniversary.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until time of services at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth to the Kettering Medical Center’s Oncology Patient Fund, Kettering Medical Center Foundation, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429. The funds will be used to assist needy patients with their expenses as they undergo cancer treatment.
