Tom is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon; sons, Michael Reed of St. Louis, MO and Brian (Vanessa) Reed of Dayton; sister, Linda Smith of Columbus; two grandchildren, Brayden and Trinity, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Tom was a graduate of U.D. in 1960. He worked for and retired from the Aeronautical Systems Division at Wright-Patterson AFB as an Aero Space Engineer in 1993 after 33 years of service. Tom enjoyed playing golf, working on cars, and square dancing with his wife. When his sons were young, he coached little league baseball and basketball. In retirement, he enjoyed working around the house and spending time with his two grandchildren and family. Tom had a frugal nature, mixed with anonymous generosity.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 E. 2nd St., Dayton. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502.
