Alpha E. Johnson, age 81 of West Carrollton, passed away July 29, 2015. She was born February 11, 1934 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Mort and Ethel Carroll. In addition to her parents, Alpha was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Johnson; daughters: Connie Johnson and Brenda Marinelli; and grandson, Travis Johnson.

Alpha is survived by her sons: Denver (Candice) Johnson and Billy Carroll; grandchildren: Nichole Hacker, Joe Marinelli, Zack Marinelli and Benjamin Johnson; siblings: Herbert Carroll, Lois Rainey, Judy Carroll, Maudie Carroll and Dorothy Whisman; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alpha was a member of the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene. Alpha enjoyed caring for her family and friends; she enjoyed cooking for them and treating them as her own. She was lovingly referred to as "Mamaw" by many.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 5-6 pm.

Contributions may be made in Alpha's memory to the American Cancer Society.
