She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 55 years, Kinnard Watkins; 8 children, Barbara (Lloyd) Hathcock, Curtis (Pat) Cochran, Joyce Cochran, Karen Mills, Kinnard Watkins Jr., Kimberly (Dennis) Jones, Kristie Watkins, and William (Sonya) Watkins. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters, Rachel Williams, Inez Rutledge, and Aliene Price; brother, Cecil Price; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; Wade and Cochran families; a host of nieces and nephews; and The St. James AME Church family.
Bernice is preceded in death by her first husband, Wright Cochran; son, Darrick Watkins; sisters, Levanah Hill, Sarah Fontaine, and Nellie Price; brother, Randolph Price; and aunt, Evelyn Wade.
She attended Roosevelt High School and later worked at Kettering Hospital as a dietary aid. Bernice was a diligent worker, a missionary of her church, president of Stewardess, choir member, and member of the South Ohio Conference Missionary Society. She loved her family and was a constant caregiver. Bernice loved to exercise and walk with God. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family.
