William "Bill" Stroup
1924 - 2015

William E. "Bill" Stroup, age 90 of Springboro, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2015. He was born July 2, 1924 in Cincinnati to the late Etta and Edward Stroup. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Stroup; son, Edward Stroup; son-in-law, Gene Kabler; and brother, Robert Edwards.

Bill is survived by his son, Robert (Ellie) Stroup; daughter, Annetta Kabler; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He retired as a Cincinnati Police Officer and then served at the Public Defender's Office. He was a lifetime member of the F.O.P Queen City Lodge # 69 and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. At 6:30 pm a F.O.P. and Military Service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Cincinnati Police Memorial, c/o Greater Cincinnati Foundation, 200 W. 4th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202.
