Robert Matthew Alexander, age 61 of Dayton, passed away peacefully in his residence on Sunday, June 28, 2015. Robert, lovingly known as B.O.B. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Olney High School and attended Community College where he pledged his beloved fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He later transferred to Wilberforce University, where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration. While at Wilberforce, Robert continued to be an active and very devoted member of his fraternity. He was employed as an Air Traffic Controller until his health no longer permitted and retired after 29 years of Federal service. B.O.B wore many other hats as well; being a Realtor for nearly 30 years, a car salesman at CARMAX and was currently employed at Germain Honda of Beavercreek as a sensational Car Salesman. Robert accepted Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Church. Robert enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, entertaining guests and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Rider –Alexander and his brother, Cornell ‘Sabu’ Hudson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Thalia Duncan-Alexander, son: Robert Alexander II, daughters: Desiree Alexander and LaShawn Duncan, grand-daughters: A’Nesty and Brianna Grooms all of Dayton; along with his brother, Anthony ‘Shorty’ Patton of Philadelphia, PA. Additionally, he leaves to mourn, his in-laws: Mattie McCloria and Rudolph (Marie) Duncan along with the mother of his children: Diane Alexander of Dayton, lifelong friend Russell (Bubby) Goss of Philadelphia, PA.; along with his beloved fraternity. Funeral services will held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Revival Center Ministries International located at 3011 Oakridge Drive. Pastor Paul O. Mitchell will officiant of services. Viewing will be from 10-12 pm: family will receive friends at 11:00 am. The Kappa Memorial Service will begin promptly at 12:00 pm. Repast will be held at the Cognac’s, located at 6504 North Union Road (corner of Union Rd. and Salem Ave.)
