Carole E. Blankenship, age 75 of Dayton, passed away on June 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born in the Bronx, New York on May 29, 1940 to the late Otto and Carolyn Bengston.

She is preceded in death by her late husband Edward E. Blankenship, and three great grandchildren. Along with them her sister Helen Parker preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara A. Noble Byers and spouse Dale Jenkins of Dayton, granddaughter Erika M. Plantz and spouse Blaine Bethel of Louisville, KY. Erian L. Byers and spouse Chris Byers of Troy, OH. She leaves to cherish her memory two granddaughters, Stephanie Hines of Grand Rivers, KY and Amanda Plantz of Bloomington, IN. She also leaves behind six great grandsons: Kenderick Byers, TJ Byers, Clayton Byers all of Troy, OH and PJ Bolden of Louisville, KY. Ryan Plantz of Laura, OH and Austin Deboe of Grand Rivers, KY and two great granddaughter, Kaylee Deboe of Grand Rivers, KY and Alexis Frye of Bloomington, IN.

She attended Grace Star Vocational School in Bronz, New York. She was a very enjoyable person to be around. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #8629 Okolona Louisville, KY 40219. She retired from Value City on Preston Hwy in Louisville, KY. She enjoyed volunteering her time for the V.A. Hospital helping the patients, volunteering her time at the nursing homes with her friends from the Ladies Auxiliary Post #8639. She enjoyed being at the V.F.W. when she lived in Louisville, KY. She leaves behind a whole slew of family and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 from 5PM until 7PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424.

Burial will follow on Monday June 29, 2015 at National Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

Memorial donations can be made to Crossroads Hospice. They have been a big help with taking care of her final days.
