Clara “Dimple” Harris, age 84, of Florence, KY and Dayton, OH passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015.

She was born on February 10th, 1931in Baxter, TN to the late Noah & Dona Wheeler.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bernest” Harris; her daughter Sandra Darghty; siblings, Sherman Burgess, Lee Wheeler, Dan Wheeler, Alvin Wheeler, Denton Wheeler, Joe Wheeler, Marie Biglane, Lloyd Wheeler and (her twin brother), Dillard Wheeler.

She is survived by her sons, James David (Ramona) Harris, Larry Wayne (Karen) Harris and William Joseph (Trudy) Harris; daughter, Janet Lynn Harris; sister, Bettye Farris; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Clara was a dedicated caregiver to many family members, and especially to her daughter, Janet Lynn. She was an avid gardener, loved country western music and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 7th from 12pm-1pm at Dyer Funeral Home (798 S. Willow Ave, Cookeville, TN 38501). The service will follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Shipley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clara’s memory to the Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420).
