Comis, James “Jim”

It is with great sadness that the family of James L. Comis announces his passing, on June 30, 2018 at the age of 72 years in Centerville, Ohio. He has resided in the Montgomery County for the past 16 years.

Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1946 to Thomas and Ann Comis.

After High School, he became a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War.

Jim lived a fulfilling life as a husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. He loved attending his grandchildren’s events, working at a local grocery store, and simply sharing time with his children and their families as often as he could.

Jim is survived by his children; Angela Minton (Tim), Misty Hayes (John), Halie Cotterman (Andy), and Brian Comis (Regan). He was an adored grandfather to his eight grandchildren; Rose and Korbin Minton, Eamonn and Sarah Hayes, Sheridan and Brayden Cotterman, and Sophia and Cole Comis. He is survived by his brother, Donald Comis (Sandra).

Jim will also be fondly remembered by extended family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ann, and his wife, Sherry.

In keeping with his nature, funeral services are private and for immediate family only. Those wishing to honor his life can make a donation in his name to a charity of one’s choice.
