Thelma Hamblin, age 94 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 21, 1923 in Carpenter, Kentucky, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy Lee Hamblin; daughter, Imogene Vitale and a brother, Edward Paul

Thelma is survived by her children, Sylvia (Fred) Burns, Genevieve (Earl Sr.) White, Reba (Robert) Clever and David Hamblin; grandchildren, Debbie, Michael, Brenda, Sherry, Greg, Stephanie, Kevin, Earl Jr., Vivian and Thomas as well as numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

Thelma attended school in Whitley County, KY and married Roy Hamblin in 1939. She began her family and was a dedicated, mother, wife and homemaker. Later she pursued a career in hairdressing alongside her daughters, Reba and Genevieve. Thelma was Baptist by faith and spent the majority of her life caring for her family and enjoyed the occasional opportunity to dine out.
