Elizabeth was born on January 28, 1932 in Dubois, IN to Fred and Leona Humbert. After marrying Marcus J. Schepers of Jasper, IN on October 8, 1955 the couple moved to and became lifelong residents Dayton, OH.
Survivors include her 5 children and spouses, Barbara Tocci of West Palm Beach, FL; John (April) of Miamisburg, OH; Brian(Carol) of Killeen,TX; Dianne Akins(Emmitt) of Ocala, FL; Keith(Jodi) of Palm Bay, FL; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Elizabeth’s sister, Mildred Vale of St. Meinrad, IN and brother, Norbert and wife, Fronie of Huntingburg, IN also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Schepers; parents, Fred and Leona Humbert: twin sister, Anna Merkel; sisters, Mary Merkel and Matilda Kern; and her brothers, Richard, Fred Jr, Maurice and Eugene.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and lifelong member of St. Albert The Great Church. She volunteered extensively at C. F. Holiday School and was an avid Bingo player.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Firday, April 27th at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave Kettering, Ohio 45429. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am-12:00 pm also on Friday at the church. Interment will immediately follow at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens, Springboro, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave Dayton, OH 45420 or Kettering Cancer Center 3700 Southern Blvd Kettering, OH 45429.
