In Memory Of
Maria Elizabeth Garcia
1967 - 2018

Maria Elizabeth Garcia, beautiful and loving wife, sister, daughter and friend, age 50 of Beavercreek, Ohio, was called to Heaven to join the angels, Wednesday, February 14, 2018.

Maria was born on November 22, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Ohio with her beloved family when she was a young child. She grew up in Beavercreek, Ohio, graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1986, established herself as a talented and successful hair stylist, and then pursued her interest and love of children by becoming a teacher. She was a positive influence and role model to hundreds of children whom she taught at Miami Valley Child Development Centers where she worked for many years.

Maria, also known as “Yeaya” and “Princess” by her family and close friends, loved to laugh. She had a strong faith in God, prayed to the Virgin Mary, and attended Immaculate Conception Church. She was humble and kind but not afraid to stick up for those she held dear. She loved listening to music especially country, and 80s rock, spending time with her family and friends, attending her nephews’ sporting events (and was the aunt cheering loudly from the sidelines), enjoyed going camping, and making trips to Gatlinburg, and decorating her home, especially her year-round Christmas tree which she had just decorated for Valentine’s Day.

More than anything, Maria loved her family whom will forever hold her spirit, laughter, smile, and warm hugs in their hearts. She is survived by her husband, Ron Hous; parents, Maria J. and Mauricio Garcia Senior; brothers, Mauricio (Julie) Garcia, Juan (Teresa) Garcia, and Augusto Garcia (Nicole Rothery), her younger sister and best friend, “Little” Teresa (Bill) Martin; her nephews and nieces, Jonathan (Krysten) Garcia, Brittany Garcia (also her Goddaughter), Chelsea Garcia, Billy Martin (Kaitlyn Moore), Hannah Garcia, Michael Martin (also her Godson); great nephews, Ryder and Bentley; great nieces, Zaylee and Stella, and many dear friends. Maria leaves behind many hearts who are forever changed by her passing, but also a legacy of love and cherished moments that will live on through all who were blessed to know her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on February 22, 2018 with a visitation 1 hour prior at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 Smithville Rd., Dayton, OH 45420. Burial follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
