Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard, sisters Agnes, Jeanette and Phyllis and brother Kenneth.
He was married to his loving wife Donna of 65 years who passed away on July 25, 2017.
He is survived by his son Robert Allan, daughter in-law Elaine Ford, grandson Robert Richard, all of Ocean Pines, MD, step grandson Michael Ford, and great-grandson Greysen of Cherry Hill, NJ and step grandson Shaun Ford, wife Allison and great grand-daughters Makenzie and Avery of Smyrna, DE and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated from Galesburg, Illinois High School in 1944 and was inducted in the U.S. Army Air Corps shortly thereafter. He was honorably discharged in October of 1945. He attended Knox College in Galesburg for two years.
Bob started his 35 year career with NCR as an apprentice Serviceman in Galesburg in 1948. After holding various positions in the Domestic and International Field Engineering Divisions, he retired as Director of Field Engineering for the International Pacific Group in 1983.
He met his wife to be Donna Marie Koch, while attending the NCR Service School in Dayton in 1951 as she was in her final year of Nurses Training at Miami Valley Hospital. They were married in January 1952.
One of his most memorable positions was three years spent in Japan as Field Engineering Coordinator for NCR’s Far East Region and as a Member of the Board of Directors of NCR Japan.
Bob enjoyed playing golf, was a member of the Beavercreek Lions Club, was active in the Beavercreek Senior Center and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Belmont.
Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek is in charge of services with visitation on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia, OH.
