James F. "Big Jim" Pettit
1939 - 2017

James F. “Big Jim” Pettit, born in 1939, James heard the calling and went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2017 after a courageous battle with CHF.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Lynnette M. Pettit. He is also survived by his daughters, Angela Pettit-Davis and Lori Pettit; sons-in-law, Russell Davis and Tony Jones; nephews, Gregg and Chris Pettit; niece, Debbie Paulet; grandchildren, Charles and James Loy and Morgan Taylor Pettit, as well as a host of great grandchildren.

Jim was the owner of Zenith Pattern Products of Dayton, President of the Dayton Pattern Maker’s Association, and Trustee for the Pattern Makers Trust Fund. Jim was a 1957 graduate of Brookville High School and proud Blue Devil.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry F. and Edna P. Pettit; son, Robbie J. Pettit; brother, Robert H. Pettit, and nephew, Todd Pettit.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on November 29, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 am with a service following at 11:00 am at Newcomer (South Chapel), 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439. Interment will take place at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, OH. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Dayton.
