Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Delores Lauterback, Eileen Stemen; and brothers, Wycliffe and Samuel Long.
Carl is survived by his brothers, Harold (Barbara) Long, Kenneth Burl Long (Debbie); daughter, Dawn Winsett; nieces, Becky Long, Lisa (Ben) Belk; great-nephews, Parker Long, Bradley Belk, Brandon Belk; great niece, Lauren Belk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl served his country in the 101st Airborne in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:30 am at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 W. Third St., Dayton, OH 45428.
