Dorothy A. Strasser, 98, of Kettering, passed away on October 14, 2017. She was born on December 6, 1918 to the late George and Lida (Bernheisel) Headington in Dayton, OH.

Dorothy was working at NCR when she married the love of her life, Robert Strasser, in 1944. She continued working until they started a family in 1946. She and her husband traveled early in their marriage before settling down and making Kettering, OH their home.

She played the piano at many weddings and later in life she took organ lessons. Dorothy also enjoyed yoga and baseball. She had a strong faith and was very active with Central Christian Church.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Carol A. Kromer (Gary Brashears), Donald "Don" A. Strasser (Opal), Barb L. Luzio (Denny); grandchildren, Bryan Strasser (Amy), April Staton (Robert), Alicia Bradshaw (Greg), Heather Luzio (Paul Stone), Michelle Luzio (Andy Groves); great-grandchildren, Damon Groves, Derek Groves, Dylan Bradshaw, and Deacon Groves; as well as other family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017, 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH, with a funeral service following at 1:30pm.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in the Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, OH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Christian Church, 1200 Forrer Blvd, Dayton, OH 45420 or a charity of your choice.
