Dorothy L. Whitaker, 92, of Beavercreek, passed away October 9, 2017. Dorothy was born in Fairborn, OH on December 21, 1924 to the late Herman and Callie Semler. She was a member of the Lioness Women’s Club for many years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Willis Dewey Whitaker; son, Michael Whitaker; brother, Robert Semler; and sister, Marianne Maurer.

She is survived by her son, Richard Whitaker; daughter, Melissa (Mike) Tomlin; grandchildren, Christopher (Lisa) Whitaker, Anthony Whitaker, Kristin (Nick) Tomlin; great grandchildren, Cannon Whitaker, Chase Stiffler; sister in laws, Reba Whitaker, Mary Whitaker, Francis Whitaker; nephews, Steve Semler, David Maurer; nieces, Sue Semler, Sharon Whittaker, Becky Bower, Carolyn Lynch; cousins, Jenna Whitaker, Leonard Dale Whitaker, Kenny Whitaker; and many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5 - 7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10am. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
