1932 - 2017

STICKLEY, Erwin C., age 85 of Beavercreek, passed away on September 30, 2017. He was born in Bennington, KS to the late Malcolm "Bud" and Hilda Stickley in 1932. He grew up in Colorado, loved the mountains, and became an avid sportsman and gardener. Erwin joined the United States Navy in 1950 and honorably served in the Korean War. After his service, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree at the University of Denver.

Erwin worked in many fields, and finished his career as a corrections officer in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was a member of the Xenia Masonic Lodge #49 and was active in the Greene County Master Gardeners. Erwin was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

In addition to his parents, Erwin was preceded in death by his sister, Nadine McDowell.

Erwin leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife of 60 years, Margaret Stickley; daughter, Karla (Gordon) Strong; granddaughter, Katya Strong; brother, Alan Stickley; and many other loving relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Park Foundation or the Beavercreek Wetlands Association.
