Karl Dean, age 78 of Riverside, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his home. He was born July 10, 1939 in Esserville, Virginia, the son of the late Ezra and Ethel Dean.

He is preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Waddle, Molly Smith, Polly Clark; and brother, Delmar Ray Dean.

Karl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; daughter, Karen Dean; son, Michael (Nicole) Dean; sister, Peggy (Lee) Babcock; brother, Johnny (Patricia) Dean; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Karl retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of serving his country. He then drove a truck for ABF Trucking and finally retired after 25 years. He was actively involved with the Riverside Chamber of Commerce serving on the Board of Directors. He was also a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Huber Heights.

Karl was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time in Myrtle Beach.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 3 pm. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until the time of service.
