Indianapolis - Grace Elnora Nelson went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 16, 2017. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Nelson was born December 21, 1928 in Dayton, OH to the late Carl and Thelma Rife. She lovingly served her family as a homemaker and was loved by many friends. She relocated to Indianapolis in 2015 to be closer to her daughter, Susan Lucas.

Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Harold Luther Nelson. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Lucas and Carol Ann Ferryman; sons, Harold Nelson and Martin Nelson; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Nelson’s family will receive friends Friday, August 25, 2017, from 4 – 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, OH 45439. A celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 9 am at the South Chapel. Interment will follow at David’s Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Road, Dayton, OH 45429.
