Lukathryn Cecelia "Ludy" Weaver
1922 - 2017
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rosemary, brothers Con and Ted Gubser and her high school sweetheart and husband of 67 years George “Jim” Weaver.
She is survived by her sons Mike (Patty), Steve and Tom (Debbie) Weaver; three grandsons, James (Ashley), Ian and Reilly Weaver; two nieces, Rosemary (Ron) Gable, Barbara Bowles-Liechty; two nephews, Con (Lou Ann) and Chuck Gubser and two great grandchildren, Aubrey Marie and Jack Weaver.
Ludy managed her household as well as her parent’s home based Capital Dry Cleaning business and served as primary caretaker in their final years, which included providing a home for her father. Her in-laws received her emotional and financial support as well.
Ludy volunteered for numerous activities in support of her sons at Immaculate Conception and St. Helen parishes and at Carroll High School. She was a founding member of Carroll’s Booster Club and spent many years crafting ornaments for and working at St. Helen parish's Christmas bazaar.
Ludy enjoyed traveling with friends or family and spending weekends at Cowan Lake in the family camper. Ludy played the organ when she thought no one was listening, read mystery books, worked word search puzzles and enjoyed the company of her sons, grandsons and great grandchildren.
Ludy’s family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. A funeral service will held at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
