Heleana Yepez, of Springboro, passed away on July 10, 2017. She was 87 years old. She was born in La Paz, Bolivia on September 13, 1929, daughter of the late Gustavo Alexander and Emilia Munoz. Heleana was preceded in death by her daughter, Emilia Vargas and her sister, Henna Pabon.

She is survived by her children, Crystal Vargas, Ana Maria Vargas, Gustavo Vargas, and Heleana Hogan, as well as her 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and her husband, Carlos Yepez, whom she was married to for 52 years.

Heleana worked as the Head of the Translation Department at the Bank of America in New York City, New York. She loved languages and spoke Spanish, German, English and French. She enjoyed singing and acting, and participated in theater groups both in Bolivia and the U.S. She was an active member of her church, St. Mary’s in Ohio, and was an RCIA sponsor, a Stephen Minister, and a member of the Prayer chain, the Ladies’ Society, and Teams of our Lady. She was a sweet and loving person, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Mass will begin at 12:00 P.M., followed by a reception at 1:00 P.M. Donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul.
