1930 - 2017

James C. Shade, age 87 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Widow's Home of Dayton. He was born January 22, 1930 in Dayton, OH to the late Ralph and Mildred Shade.

Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Germany as a combat medic. He was affiliated with the Nazarene Church holding positions of Sunday School Teacher, Caravan Leader, Janitor, Board Member. Jim served the Lord and was a faithful member of the Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene. He had a strong love for Jesus and leading others to Christ. He worked as the Sound Technician for the Orner Trio traveling across 35 states and two world countries. He retired from Duriron & Metal after 21 years. He was the best grandpa and great-grandpa, devoted father and husband who will be dearly missed by his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; daughter, Diane Orner; brothers, Paul and Don and sisters, Virginia and Norma.

Jim will be missed by his children Donna (Jeff) Loy, David (Laurie) Shade and Lori Shade; grandchildren, Michele, Dustin, Shannon, Ginger (George), Dakota, Tyee, Logan, Jamie, Mark, Andrea, John, Daniel and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Haley, Nicholas, Blake, Jillian, Crosley, Kayla, Ryleigh, Travis, Austin, J.T., Paden, Adalee, Alyxandria; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Dayton Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial at Dayton National Cemetery.
