Alvice E. Garrett, 79, passed away March 24, 2017. His parents Eugene and Fredonia Garrett preceded him in death. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. His career included duty assignments around the world ending at Norton Air Force Base, California. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal while assigned in the Republic of Vietnam as well as Meritorious Service Medals for service at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida working on the Project Mercury program. He continued his federal career as a civilian employee at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepson Todd Woessner and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, his sons Chip (Debbie), Micheal (Sharon), and Scott (Rene) and step-son Mark (Cate), grandchildren Michelle, Kristin, Ashlee, Abreanne and step granddaughter, Keri (Joe) and two great grandchildren, sister Betty (Billy), brothers Roy (Sharlene), Leon (Beverly) and L.A. (Jean). He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation to Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W. Whipp Rd. Dayton, OH 45459.
