Schubach, Theodor (Ted) Carl Johannes, age 92 was called Home during his sleep on Saturday morning, March 18, 2017 from Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices in Springboro, where he lived for several years.

Ted was preceded in death by parents, Konrad and Margarethe (Jacoby), brother, Conrad, sister, Louise (Moehring), and wife, Margaret (Bendlin).

He is survived by sister, Elizabeth (Gerald) Moehring, his six children: Wendy (Bill) Roan of California, Cheryl (John) Morris of Nebraska, Beth Schubach of Washington, Trudy (Chris) Deneff of Rhode Island, Tim (Rita) Schubach of Miamisburg, and Susan (Greg) Slater of Oregon; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Born in Saxony, Germany in 1924, Ted immigrated to the United States in 1928. He married Margaret in 1949, and enjoyed 61 years together. He served honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army where he was awarded both Good Conduct and Marksman medals and was discharged in 1945. Ted had a long career designing tractor trailers, rapid transit vehicles, and city buses, and was awarded several U.S. patents. Ted was an avid woodworker and enjoyed baking breads.

Donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society or Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices in Springboro.

Ted will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
