1944 - 2017

Larry Richard Davis, age 72 of Dayton, formerly of Homerville, GA, went home to the Lord on March 18, 2017. He was born December 4, 1944 in Homerville, Georgia the son of Archie and Vallie Chancellor.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Mae Davis; Father, Willie Davis; and grandmother, Valley Sharpe.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Vallie Chancellor; daughter, Kinyatta (Rontaye) Johnson; son, Anthony Davis; very special granddaughter, Ronnae M. Johnson; oldest granddaughter, Christian Davis; Goddaughter, Rhonda Billings; and special friend, Stephanie Davis.

Larry accepted the Lord early in his life. He became an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio 51 years ago, where he was known for his strong belief in Christ. He served as head of the Trustee Board for 1 year. Larry graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1962. He served in the United States Air Force until 1965. Larry furthered his education where he received his Bachelor's in Science at Central State University, followed by his certified fraud examiners in 1993 and his CPA in 1996. Larry worked for Wilberforce University, Frigidaire, Ohio Dept. of Education and the State of Ohio until his retirement in 2000. Larry was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Sorority as well as the Masons.

Larry's services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 3801 Fairbanks Ave., Dayton, OH with Rev. Ted Milbry officiating. Visitation will be from 8 am until the time of service. Please visit www.newcomerdayton.com to share a memory in the family guest book.
