Charles J. Coatney, "Jack", age 88 of West Carrollton, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home. He was born January 30, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Hettie Coatney.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Harry Coatney, Jr.; and son-in-law, Rick Roark.

Jack is survived by his daughters, Pam Roark, Tona Williamson, Peggy (Mike) Bishop; six grandchildren, Melissa Williamson, Melanie (Jeremy) Martin, DeAnn Black, Nathan Chandler, Dustin Bishop, Louis Williamson; 15 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Jack was member of Sheet Metal Workers Association Local 24 for 63 years. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jack's passions were bird watching, NASCAR racing, football and politics.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Visitation will be from 3 pm until the time of service.
