He is survived by his daughters, Christina (Marco) Salas, Katherine Atkins and Tara Atkins; granddaughter, Serenity Salas; brother, Michael W. Atkins; nieces and nephews, Erin, Hayley, Cassidy, Christopher and Kyle; numerous extended family and friends.
Jim worked and retired from Dayton Fire Station Company 15 as a firefighter. He enjoyed bowling and coaching Christina's little league team. Jim was an avid reader, sports enthusiast and a Dungeons & Dragons Master. He was very outgoing with all his interests.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to The Hospice of Dayton and/or the Kidney Foundation, in Jim's memory.
