Phyllis L. Deatherage
1933 - 2016
Phyllis was born July 27, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, to parents James and Anna Marie (Grooms) Yount. She had three siblings, Danny, Betty, and Donna.
On October 26, 1949, Phyllis married her childhood sweetheart, Howard Wesley Deatherage. Together, they raised four children and were happily married for 64 years. Phyllis enjoyed painting, especially working on pieces made in her husband's woodshop. Both were active member of FOE 3491 for much of their lives. Phyllis loved to be surrounded by flowers from her garden, and by animals of all kinds.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband and parents, as well as her siblings, and many other loved ones, with whom she is now reunited.
She is survived by her four children, Gary Lee, Roger Phillip, John Howard, and Karen Lynn, by daugther-in-law Charissa and son-in-law David, by grandchildren Eric, Crista, Tracee, Michelle, Tina, Darrell, Ashley, Aimee, Shane, Tonya Leanne, John Eric, Jimmy, Jennifer, Jason, and Kelly Marie, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Peanut.
Phyllis's family would like to thank her many caregivers, Hospice, and especially Nicole Weaver, for providing friendship as well as medical care.
