1930 - 2016

John M. Blasingame Jr., 86 of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away Friday September 23, 2016 after a long illness. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife Jean (Rhoades) Blasingame of 57 years, and their five children (and spouses): Lee Edward Blasingame, Lynn Blasingame Wicker (Devert Wicker), Ann Blasingame Hager (Doug Hager), Becky Blasingame Schatzberg (Louie Schatzberg), and John Bradley Blasingame; and was loved and supported by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John graduated from Vanderbilt University where he majored in Chemistry. John retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1993 after 38 years of service, where he served as a Physicist and Air Force Program Manager of the VHSIC program (Very High Speed Integrated Circuits).

John’s hobbies/interests included: Music, chemistry, model RC airplanes, sailing, astronomy, and woodworking. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Corinth, MS. John will be dearly missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hillside Chapel, 3515 Shakertown Road, Beavercreek, Ohio at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
