James A. Springer, age 77 of Kettering, passed peacefully on August 23, 2016. He was raised in Piqua, Ohio by late parents, Sarah and Ernest Springer. James retired from Dayton Power and Light after 43 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was an excellent woodworker and craftsman. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and beloved pets, Sammy and Miley Girl.

He was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Jim Lewis; and grandson, Joshua Fleming.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving wife of 44 years, Betty Springer; children, LeeAnne (Rick) Sloan, Lisa Springer, Stephanie (Charlie) Rohrback, and Jimmie Springer; siblings, Larry (Sue) Springer, Tim Springer, Janet Hike; sister-in-law Sandy Lewis; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug 25, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (Kettering Chapel) from 4pm-6pm, Funeral service to be held immediately following at 6pm. Burial to be held the following day at Royal Oak Memory Gardens (Brookville, OH) at 1:30pm.
