Gloria L. Leigh was born May 6, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to William F. Leigh, Sr. and Catherine Lee Leigh. She died on May 19, 2016 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Dayton until her move to North Carolina in September 2014 to be with her daughter, Anthonia Leigh McDaniel.

In addition to her only child, Anthonia, she is survived by granddaughter, Jasmine Douglas and her husband, SSG Charles Douglas and their sons, Ian and Ethan of Derby, Kansas; grandson, SSG Ronald Keith McDaniel of Cincinnati and his sons Isaiah and Elijah of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Caleb and Noah of Fairfield, OH; and grandson, Joshua of Fayetteville. Her surviving siblings are Major General (Ret) Fredric H. Leigh and his wife Karyn, of Manassas, VA; and Alice Leigh Peoples and husband, Gregory of Ypsilanti, Michigan and brother-in-law Tony Curington Sr. of Dayton. She is also mourned by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Catherine T. Curington, William F. Leigh, Jr., and Thomas E. Leigh.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 27 at Newcomer Funeral Home – Kettering from 5pm-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church (519 Liscum Drive, Dayton). Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
